Entry#5- local story respond...

 Hello everyone,

Growing up I always knew that I wanted to go to college. My parents always told me that there would be better opportunities for me if I continued my education after high school and got at least a bachelor's degree. I loved learning so it was kind of easy to make that decision, but I know people who always knew they didn't wish to attend college.

The first article talks about how higher education is extremely important because the opportunities are more if you obtain a bachelor's degree or higher. Seeing that article made me realize how important it is to continue one's education. I honestly thought it wasn't as big of a deal as it is. It is easier said than done, but I think if the government helps people obtain their degree's a lot more people would be willing to continue their education. It's incredibly important for students to feel that if they want to continue their education, they can.

The second article shows the statistics of median income based on people who got their degrees. People who get their degrees earn more than those who don't. What didn't surprise me is the fact that people who graduate high school earn more than those who don't because most jobs nowadays require at least a high school degree. These two articles clearly stress the idea that it is important to get a college degree whether that be a 2-year or 4-year degree.

Overall, I believe that getting a college degree is a good idea. I like that the government is putting effort in providing a way for more people to get higher education. Hopefully the goal is reached in the future and students who wish to got to college can.
