Entry #2- movies...

 Hello everyone,

I am quite a movie enthusiast and will watch anything and everything, although I do prefer horror films.  Watching movies at the end of the day is so refreshing and it helps me "wrap up" my day in a way. Movies have a beneficial impact on people physically and mentally. While sometimes watching movies is for fun, they can also serve as motivation to some (especially if the movie is about chasing a dream).

An example of this genre is, The Pursuit of Happiness. The main theme of the movie is never giving up on your dreams. The movie is about a single dad who is trying to create a better life for his son and goes through many hardships. While he is interning at a company, he isn't getting paid. The intern program includes 20 people who all want the job and they essentially have to compete against one another to land it. Despite all odds being against him, his determination finally pays off when he is chosen for the job. This movie is so heartwarming and can uplift anyone who is struggling at school, work, or home, etc. I highly recommend this movie to everyone.

Another movie which I enjoy, but in all honesty is sad and depressing is , The Lovely Bones. I first read the book in middle school and had no idea there was a movie until about 2 years ago. The movie did a good job in capturing all the main details from the book.

The Lovely Bones is about a 14 year old girl, Susie Salmon, who is murdered on her way home from school. The entire movie focuses on the family's journey finding out who her murderer was. Unlike the family, the audience immediately knows who the murderer is because the point of the movie is for the family and Susie to move on from her untimely death. This movie is a sad movie, but I prefer to call it bittersweet. Although it is depressing, the end of the movie makes up for it.

These are two movies which I highly recommend to anyone who either wants to feel motivated or sad. They both have uplifting messages communicated in different ways.

  1. I like watching inspirational movies. They are really heartwarming, and the pursuit of happiness is one of my favorites. Another movie similar to it is called Daddies Little Girls. It stars Idris Elba who plays the father of three girls who he lost custody to their not so grate mother. He gets clowned out throughout the movie for being in a tough situation, but he doesn't let that stop him from trying to get back his girls.
